Markeisha Baker was no stranger to the Marina Weight Loss Clinic. In fact, Markeisha works as Dr. Korman’s surgical nurse and has assisted in numerous bariatric procedures. In April of 2017, at a starting weight of 255 pounds, she made a life-changing decision to have the gastric sleeve procedure. Since then, Markeisha has lost nearly 100 pounds and is living her life to the fullest. Below, she shares more about her weight loss journey and what keeps her going.
What has been your biggest success thus far?
My biggest success thus far is losing 95 pounds!
What has been the biggest challenge for you during this journey?
The biggest challenge for me is probably not drinking enough water every day.
What motivates you to continue on your journey?
Not being the big girl in the room is my motivation for continued change.
Do you have a favorite go-to, healthy snack?
Cold fruit and grilled chicken are my favorite quick go-to meals.
Do you have any advice for someone considering a similar procedure?
The advice I have given to those considering weight loss surgery is you will not be able to lose a significant amount of weight alone, and also just go for it, you will not regret it!
What crazy diets have you attempted in the past?
The craziest diet I have tried is Herbalife.
What was the best/worst dieting advice you’ve received?
The worst diet advice I received was to drink apple cider vinegar.
