Understanding
the STARR Treatment

We understand that one of the biggest concerns patients have is going under the knife. Many believe that weight loss surgeries are extensive procedures that involve serious treatment. While that may have been the case in the past, it is no longer the case today. At Marina Weight Loss Center, we specialize in minimally invasive procedures using STARR, Surgical Tiny Access Rapid Recovery.

STARR is a patented array of instruments that are contained in one slim tool, called the SPIDER. Rather than traditional laparoscopic treatments with several incisions, with the STARR treatment, you will only have one. When it is introduced inside the body, the instruments deploy like an unfolding umbrella. This allows the surgeon to have all the necessary instruments in the right place in a single, easy-to-handle tool. After the procedure is complete, the SPIDER folds up and is removed through the single incision.

  • Less scarring, and more

With the advances in technology, this treatment can now be used for a wide variety of Bariatric procedures.
