Jeremy Korman

Jeremy Korman, M.D., is the medical director of LA Bariatrics. A leading weight loss surgeon, Dr. Korman has successfully performed over 1,000 weight loss procedures on patients from all over the United States.

Dr. Korman, a board-certified general surgeon, specializes in several types of bariatric surgery, including:


 

• Laparoscopic gastric banding (“lap band”)
• Gastric bypass
• Gastric sleeve
• Gastric imbrication
• Bariatric surgery revision procedures, including “endoluminal” — or incision-free — gastric surgery

Dr. Korman leads the multidisciplinary weight loss team, who work together to help their clients realize their weight loss goals and achieve better health. His teammates include cardiologist Dr. John M. Kennedy, cosmetic surgeon Dr. David Stoker, and Bariatric Nurse Bridgette Agee. You can learn more about the team by visiting our staff page. Dr. Korman’s background

Dr. Korman earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Cornell University. He then graduated from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and completed his general surgery residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Korman completed a fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in laparoscopic general surgery.  In this type of surgery incisions are much smaller than in traditional surgery. He then completed a fellowship in bariatric surgery.
