I decided to have LAP-BAND Surgery for a lot of reasons. My health was getting worse and worse as I got bigger and bigger. My self esteem was so low that I would settle for anything and anyone to fill the void that was deep within me. When my grandchildren said to me, “Grandma, you need to lose weight,” I was devastated. Shopping for clothes was like digging for gold. It was all day in the store trying on different sizes. My knees were in so much pain that I dreaded having to walk. My back pain kept me from enjoying some of the fun things in life. I couldn’t fit on the airplane without getting a seat belt extender. Also, at the amusement park, I couldn’t fit on the rides with my grandchildren. People teased me all my life.
I saw ladies at my job who were transforming not only in body but in mind as well. They seemed happier and had more energy. I finally built up the courage to ask them how they were losing weight and maintaining their weight loss. They referred me to Dr. Korman and LA Bariatrics at Marina Del Rey Hospital in Los Angeles.
My life today is a dream come true. No more medication, no more depression, no more joint pain, no more settling for less. I can shop at any of the fine boutique stores and walk out with clothes that fit. My grandchildren don’t stop telling me how wonderful I look. I feel great thanks to the whole team at LA Bariatrics and Dr. Korman.
