Julie L. Oldenburg
Julie L. Oldenburg is the dietitian for LA Bariatrics. Her role at our Los Angeles weight loss center is to assess the nutritional needs of each patient, then to develop a nutrition plan that will help our clients effectively and healthily achieve their goals for improved health and weight loss.
Julie has been providing nutritional education, counseling, and support for medical centers around Los Angeles since 1977, when she received her certification as a registered dietitian.
She is knowledgeable and very experienced in dealing with the nutritional issues faced by bariatric and diabetic patients. For the past 24 years, she has been responsible for the coordination and provision of nutritional services at the facility’s diabetes care center; in addition to counseling patients, she has developed educational materials for use in this area. Currently, she also provides nutritional counseling and education to inpatient and outpatient bariatric surgery patients, including pre-surgical assessments and group education classes and support groups.
Julie has been a certified diabetes educator since 1987, and is a member of the following professional associations:
- The American Dietetic Association
- The American Dietetic Association’s practice groups for diabetes care and education and weight management
- The American Diabetes Association’s professional section
- The American Association of Diabetes Educators
- The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery
